Frequently Asked Questions

I haven’t had my 6 week check up yet, is it still OK to come to class?

Massage is fine to practice at home but we suggest waiting until 6 weeks to bring baby to a class environment.

My baby is awaiting a hip scan, can we still come to class?

That’s absolutely fine to still come, but please let me know before the start of the class.

My baby had vaccinations recently, can we come to class?

After vaccinations, please wait 24 to 48 hours. If baby seems well after this, please come along!

My baby seems a little unwell, can we come to class?

Please don’t practice stretching or massage with a baby that seems under the weather. They usually wont feel like getting up to much apart from cuddles.

My baby is having medical treatment/has special needs

Please check with your healthcare professional about the classes before starting.

I hear there are stairs up to the studio, can I bring my buggy?

Indeed, we have to bring buggies upstairs with us but please don’t attempt to do this yourself. We will bring it up for you.

I’ll need to feed my baby during the session

That is absolutely fine! There is a lovely sofa to feed on if you need support or you may feed where you are sitting on your mat within the group.

The class is at the same time as my babys nap

It’s advisable not to wake a baby for a massage, but you are welcome to come along and watch for the bits that baby naps and join in when baby wakes.

What if my baby is unsettled and cries?

Please don’t worry at all, the class is a safe secure space where ‘anything goes!’ All the babies will have a cry at some point during the massage, especially during their first class. The more you can bring baby, the more they’ll get used to it and look forward to it and love their massage and stretchy time.

If your baby is crying excessively and cannot be comforted, he/she may be ill. Never practice on a distressed baby, or if your baby is limp, pale, has a temperature, or any difficulties breathing, please seek appropriate medical help.

What should I wear?

Ideally, loose comfortable clothes for both of you.

If you have any other queries whatsoever, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Lucy anytime.
